For the Supply and Demand of Urology Resident, What Do We Do?

Abstract

|
Recently, the number of applicants for urology resident has not reached the limit for years. Its reason is uncertainty about the future as urology specialist. I analyzed the cause of this status and tried to propose the possible alternative measures for the supply of urology residents. These problems should be solved by cooperation with he Korean Urological Association, the government and related agencies, the Hospital Association and each training institutes. First, the Korean Urological Association should amend the training curriculum and the survey of training condition. Second, each training institutes should try to improve the environment for the urological training. Third, the government should improve the medical fare and make the policy for the special field of urology.By doing so, urologist can get hope for the future and urology applicants will be expanded.
